Unlocking the Power of AI: Transforming How We Work, Learn, and Grow

Since 2010, SalesFix has focused on delivering client-centric solutions. Our success stems from staying true to our core values, ensuring that every interaction with our customers and partners reflects our commitment to understanding their needs.
As Artifical Intellegence (AI) becomes more integral to our business and our customers, we recognise its potential to reshape operations and improve outcomes.

While we’re still on our own AI journey (as most businesses are), we’re eager to share what we’ve learned and grow a community of learning to help navigate and understand this technology. As you may feel, everything is moving very fast and that
AI is something of the future, but thanks to rapid advancement we need to start understanding and embracing what is now a very real part of our everyday lives.

At SalesFix we are of the mindset that it is never too late to ask questions, even about the basics. We want to help you feel comfortable with emerging technology and how you can embrace this to empower your business and teams.

To kick off our monthly AI series this blog will explore what AI is, how it works, and our evolving vision for helping businesses harness its power.

What is AI?

Artificial Intelligence is about creating software and hardware (machines) that are able to mimic human intelligence.

Similar to humans, it works by pattern recognition, to enable decision making whilst learning from experiences. The real power of AI is its ability to learn and recognise patterns much faster than a human, and therefore make more decisions in a smaller amount of time.

There are two key types of AI:

Narrow Artificial Intelligence (NAI) – this is where AI has specialism in one domain only, for instance, it might be really good at playing digital chess, but it wouldn’t be able to make a cheese toasty.
General Artificial Intelligence (GAI) – this is more synonymous with “being human”. Not only can it play chess, but it can do your laundry, and make YOU a cheese toasty.

The best way to view AI (currently) is that it can be an incredible assistant to your everyday needs. How many of us spend a lot of time summarising documents……scouring the information for research and analysis on topics that we are new to.
Well, if you are in that camp, like us, then AI can be a powerful assistant to help make your life easier. Just like a personal assistant helps you with tasks, scheduling, and organising your day, AI can act as a digital assistant by analysing data, making recommendations, and executing tasks on your behalf.

How it works

Currently the most recognisable AI is Generative AI or GenAI, you will know it in a few forms such as ChatGPT, Microsoft CoPilot, and Google’s Gemini. (More to come on this in an upcoming article).

There’s a lot to learn about ChatGPT and its counterparts, and many people are just scratching the surface of what these tools can do. While it’s common to use ChatGPT as a basic search engine, it’s so much more than that. To unlock its full potential, treat it as you would a conversation with a colleague or friend. Start with broader questions, then refine and evolve them. The more specific and detailed your input, the more tailored and useful the responses become. Don’t be afraid to dive deeper, ask follow-ups, or explore different perspectives. And remember, politeness goes a long way—studies show that courteous interaction can lead to better, more effective results.

When it comes to getting the best out of AI tools like ChatGPT, it all starts with crafting a great prompt. A strong prompt consists of three key elements: Character, Context, and Challenge

Character – Begin by defining the role you’re in and the role you want the AI to assume. This helps the chatbot “get into character” and understand its audience, making its responses more relevant.

Context – Provide the background information. Explain what you’re working on, who’s involved, and the broader situation. The clearer the picture, the better the AI can assist.

Challenge – Outline the problem you’re trying to solve. Describe how important it is, who it affects, and what your objective is. The more precise you are, the more targeted and helpful the response will be.

Once the chatbot replies, keep the conversation going! Refine the answers, explore alternatives, and develop the idea further. Remember, they’re your assistant, ready to help as you guide them through your task.

Why AI Matters – How Can It Help You?

The Assistant You’ve Always Wanted – Think of a GenAI as the ultimate assistant, giving you instant access to vast amounts of data from across the internet. In just seconds, it can condense complex topics into clear, concise summaries. Imagine having an assistant that can research nuclear fusion in under a minute and deliver an executive summary! With AI, the possibilities are endless.

Operational Efficiency – Businesses often focus heavily on top-line revenue, but how many truly maximise their bottom line? AI has the potential to streamline operations and make your staff more efficient. By automating administrative tasks, AI can reduce the need for additional hires, allowing you and your team to focus on high-value, strategic work. Put simply, AI can be a powerful tool to boost your profitability.

Staying Ahead of the Curve – If there’s one takeaway from this article, it’s this: don’t ignore AI. It’s here, and it’s not going away. We can either adapt to it or get left behind. Those who embrace AI will thrive, leveraging it to transform their businesses and personal lives. With technology advancing at an exponential rate, failing to keep up with AI could result in falling behind to a point where catching up is no longer possible.

First Steps You Can Take

Wondering how you can dive deeper into AI and discover how it can benefit your business or personal goals? I’m glad you asked! Here are a few ways to get started:

Join one of our monthly Lunch and Learn (Virtual)  – Gain insights and exchange ideas with others who are exploring AI’s potential (see the end of the article on how to sign up)

Create a ChatGPT account – Use it as your go-to search engine for a week. Get comfortable with it and see how it can streamline your research and daily tasks.

Have daily conversations with ChatGPT – Pick a topic you want to learn more about and ask it questions. You’ll be surprised at how quickly you can expand your knowledge.

Reach out to SalesFix – Learn how we’ve helped clients harness AI to improve their operations and achieve real results.

At SalesFix, we’re on a journey alongside our clients and partners to integrate AI into everyday life. We believe this transformative technology has the power to help us all live fuller, richer lives, enabling us to level up and tackle bigger challenges. Whether it’s automating routine tasks, sparking fresh ideas, or even creating images and videos, AI is reshaping how we work and think. The real question is, did a human or an AI write this article? And how could you tell?

Next month we will be taking a look at Salesforce and AI, from Einstein to AI Cloud with our Salesforce Technical Architect Jeremy Powell who will be sharing how it all works and what we will be seeing in the coming months as it develops.
